    Babies at the Movies

Honestly, I would rather my kids not see anything they don't have to of the adult world until they are old enough to deal with it. Little ones may not exactly know what they are seeing but I think it affects them to a certain extent.

    How Often do You Cook?

We try to cook all but two or three meals a month. It's simply too expensive to go out anymore. I try to do it if I can because my wife hates to cook and I don't mind it at all. The kids like my cooking much more than they like her's too but I wouldn't say that to her face! :)

    Spacing out during a conversation.

If you are doing this regularly, you may want to have your doctor to check you over. This can be a sign of mild seizure activity or a warning sign of a migraine headache or a stroke. It can also be something as simple as Adult Attention Deficit Disorder. Don't panic but do have it checked out.

    Texting!

Oh my yes. If my two oldest could, they would text all night. I take the cell phones away at bedtime and they get them back in the mornings. I've actually caught my oldest at 1 A.M. on a school night texting, that's the reason I take them at night.

    Kids Wanting Gadgets

There are entirely too many things to keep up with these days. I have thought of this for some time and I have been telling the kids they can expect some of the new tech goodies but not all AND they are going to have to part with some of their allowance to help pay for it. They are going to have...

    Giving the Kids Space

They have no idea what they are getting into. I know in our distant past (medieval times) people got pregnant young but hey also died much younger. If you were 40 years old, you were thought of as ancient.

    Movie night

Yeah, we try to every weekend but we wind up going out to the movies sometimes. It's cheaper to rent a movie and stay home though so that happens the majority of the time.

    Life Insurance?

We have decided to take out more. I would like to know that my wife and kids would have some financial leeway if something happened to me. I'd like that same cushion if something happened to her. On one salary these days, there is no way you could pay for college for three kids.

    Do you have a Facebook?

I have one but I'm very seldom on it. I do check it once in a while to check on far away family but other than that I don't like to chat there. I don't know too many people that don't have a facebook account these days. My mother even has one to keep in contact with my kids.

    Kids Wanting Gadgets

I know with the advent of all of the available tech gadgets that some things are "essential" for the kids to have. But gee whiz, mine want everything. I have bought the kids prepaid phones so they can call and text somewhat but I won't give them unlimited access. I have also bought the two...

    Life Insurance?

Do you and your wife have life insurance? I recently was offered more insurance by the same company who I have had the policy through for quite some time. I don't have as much as I would like to have though. What do you think?

    How Does Life Change

It really makes life worth living. I loved my wife and still do-with all my heart, but when that baby came into the world, it was like no one else existed. I never imagined my heart could hold so much love.

    But Dad-Everyone's Doing It!

You have no idea how many times I've heard that. I just ignore it. My kids aren't deprived of much by any means. So I just smile and look into the distance and tune out. :D

    New Recipe

I made this for this evening's supper and it was delicious! Take beef stew meat and dredge it in flour. While it is browning in a oil coated skillet on the stove, place in the crock pot: 1 can of cream of mushroom soup 1 can of cream of celery soup 1 packet dry onion soup mix 1 packet dry...

    Closings & Delays

Mine are going to have to go to school during spring break. So we are not going to do anything this year. We are still planning to go on a short vacation during summer break but spring break is a bust.

    An "F"!!

Well, we talked to him and had a conference at his school. Seems he is "in love" with a young lady in his algebra class. He has stopped paying attention to the teacher and has started talking to the young lady during the class. There is no punishment from the school for things like this so we...

    Disciplining In Public

I think that's about the best you can do any more. Especially in public. You risk the child services coming down on you if you do more. I have watched many people have child services called down upon them for much less.

    Do you worry?

Yeah, I do worry. I worry there will still be war going on. I worry my kids will have to be swept up in it if they resume the draft. I think it's coming down to that and it really scares me.

    Walking To School

I have been taking the kids back and forth to school lately since the weather has been so bad in our part of the country. Our schools have been hard pressed to keep the school open because there have been so many absences. Has school been out a lot where you live. We are looking at having no...

    Watching TV after the "watershed"

I don't, but then my kids, even my oldest are in bed by 9 pm on a school night. I don't appreciate the things they have on TV these days either. I think it's entirely too racy for national television. If it was a premium channel, that's another thing.
