    Lenten Fridays

Does anyone else observe the Lenten Friday's and not eat any meat? Lately, we have been having a few slip ups in our household, and have eaten meat (without even thinking about it, really).

    Too many extracurriculars?

Is there even such a thing? I never thought so until recently. I feel as though I am constantly on the go. Dropping off one of my kids, and going to pick up the other. It never ends. It's continuous. Anyone else feel the same way?

Hines Ward on Dancing With the Stars

I am a huge fan of Dancing with the Stars, and even a huger (is that even a word?) fan of Hines Ward. I think he is doing a great job in the competition so far, and I hope he continues to do well. Anyone else watching?:)

    School trips

My oldest daughter has been in the band for 4 years, and has gone to 3 of the 4 trips. We didn't let her go her first year, because she had no accumulated enough money in her account yet. Well, now our youngest daughter is in the marching band. It's her first year, and she won't be able to go...

    Mood swings?

It seems like both of my daughters are having mood swings lately. One minute they will be the sweetest little thing, and the next minute....watch out! Is anyone else dealing with this in their home?

    Drive-In anyone?

I know it's still a bit early, but lately the weather has been so nice! Does anyone else enjoy going to the drive-in during the summer?!

    MamaRoo

There was a news segment on a company called 4moms, and it showed a few of their creations. One of them was the MamaRoo. Has anyone seen this? It's a wee bit expensive, but very neat. I thought I would share it with those of you who are expecting, you guys may be interested! Here's a link...

    Making signs

This may seem like a pretty random question, but I was thinking about how you go to some sporting events and you see people holding up signs with their child's name on it. (ie: "Go Sam") Would you/have you ever made a sign like that for any of your kids? Did they like it or were they embarrassed...

    First job

My oldest daughter is 16, and will be 17 in July. I think it would be beneficial for her to get her first job soon, so she can start to make her own money. What type of job would be appropriate for a 16, going on 17 year old?

    Always being there

Are you the type of parent that feels the need to be at every single one of your child's practices & events/games/etc? I'm talking more about older children, but younger ones as well.

    Reading Texts

Have you or would you ever read your children's text messages? I never have, but sometimes I wonder, what are they really typing into their phones?

    Getting laid off

Anyone else have to deal with this? About a year ago I lost my job. The man who ran the company I worked for went through a nasty divorce and became depressed...then everything went downhill from there. Since then, I have been lucky enough to pick up another job.

My daughter failed her permit test

My 16 year old daughter went to take her test to receive her permit test today and failed it. My younger daughter was rejoicing. She doesn't like the thought of her older sister driving with her in the car, and my 16 year old didn't seem to care at all. However, she said she wants to go back...

    Comcast

We just recently upgraded to Comcast, and got some sort of "box" for it. The girls are excited about it, because we got some new channels. And, me? I'm happy because everything is in HD! :) Who is your cable provider? Have anything fancy that goes along with it?

    Texting!

Not sure if anyone else's children are even old enough to have a phone on here, but both of my daughters (teens) have cell phones. I swear, they are constantly texting away. You'd think they would give it a rest sometime, but they never do! My oldest daughter jokes around and tells me that...

    Breakfast

I always try to eat a good breakfast before I go off to work each day, and I try to get my daughters to eat as well before they go off to school for the day. But, sometimes they just won't eat! Anyone else have similar issues with their children?

    Volleyball!

My youngest daughter is in volleyball, and I don't mind at all. I'd much rather her be active in sports than sit around and do nothing! But, I have one complaint. The little shorts they have to wear! Cover up a little bit, please! They are soooo skimpy. Anyone else agree?

    Checking grades online

Does anyone else's school offer this feature? We can log on regularly, and track our kids grades. Not only can we see their grade in the class, but also all their grades for their assignments as well. You can also see if they missed that day of school or classes. I personally love it, not...

    Bribing kids to do well

I do not agree with doing this at all, but my wife is guilty of doing it. Just yesterday, we went and watched our youngest daughter in a dance competition. My wife told her if she did good, she would buy her a hamster, kitten or a fish! I am a little less than happy with my wife right now...

    Sunday is family day

Anyone else feel the same way? It seems that Sunday is the only day of the week when everyone is home and together at the same time. The rest of the week, we are rushing here and rushing there.
