Back to basics.

We have alot of the fancy video games and electronic toys, but today me and my son played for over an hour with blocks. Yep, good old legos kept my son sitting in one spot, held his attention, kick started his imagination, and entertained us both for more than hour.

When and what was the last "basic" play activity did you engage in with your kids?

I love legos, even at my age. My daughter is still young for them, but we have wooden blocks she plays with. She loves them.

My daughter has a couple of electronic toys like a Leap Frog book and stuff like that, but she also has all the basics like blocks. we play with her stuffed animals and her stacking toys everyday. We don't even watch TV here so I doubt she'll end up being a video game kind of kid.

In my spare time I like to do a little bit of wood working. Over the past few months my son has started to take and interest in this. I love to let him think up a good idea for a project and then to build it with him.
