C section questions

I don't know much about a C section but my wife is due in a couple of weeks and I worry that this could happen to her. How common is it to have to have a c section done?

I believe they are more common. My wife had two. For my son I got to sit by her head behind a curtain. When he was close they told me to get the camera, and I was allowed to stand up and take pictures.

The biggest thing I think is risk of infection. And she will be sore for a week or two, no lifting heavy objects.

My wife had two as well, and they are fairly common. They will take her back first and get her prepped while you scrub up. When they are ready they will let you sit by her head and hold her hand. The whole thing doesn't take long at all. I went with both of my kids to the nursery while they finished up.
