I coached soccer for the first time last year. Unfortunately I work so late at night I could not run the weeknight practices. I told the commissioner this was the case but due to the number of players in the league asked I do it and have the assistant coach who had never coached before run the weeknight practices. I did it, but felt I let the players and parents down a little with that arrangement as I didn't get to know the kids and their skills very well that way.
