Consistent Rules

How do you make sure that rules are consistent at both houses that the kids spend time at? Do you collaborate with your ex to make sure that the kids have consistent rules?

By brother and his ex don't get along at all. They have different sets of rules and there are some ways that it is really destructive for everyone involved. I think it is important for ex's to be civil for the sake of the kids.

I have trouble maintaining consistent rules between my wife and I. I have no idea how it would be possible with an ex. I am sure it is very hard.
