Dealing with Death and Kids

Even as my kids get older, it seems like death will always be a very hard subject to deal with. This past weekend one of the junior high teachers committed suicide. Everyone was a bit taken back. He was a favorite among all of the teachers, and was a highly respected man within the community.

In these types of situations, is there really anything you can do or say to make the situation any better?

The first thing you should do is ask your kids how they feel about it. Once you know that, you know better how to proceed with the conversation.
