Gambling

One of my buddies is a gambler. He has often wasted a good part of his income to this vice, which is really causing a lot of disruption in the home front. How can we help him to get rid of his gambling.

I have seldom went to a casino its just not my thing. I think the last time I went to visit one with a friend was in 2000 maybe? Has anyone spoken with the friend yet (even in the past)?

That is a tough one and I have only been to a casino twice, once when I was actually pregnant with my first child (no smoking casino was awesome). I would sit the friend down like any other and explain that they do have an addiction. If they are not holding the right set more than likely they will end up in the poor house. Gambling is a very bad habit for many.

They can end up in much worse places than a homeless shelter. Try an intervention maybe, but that usually doesn't help. He needs to admit he has a problem and after that maybe join a support group.

You have to make him realize that if he continues down this path he will lose everything that is important to him, he could also try to get some professional help.

Gambling is an addicting habit. It's not so easy to make someone addicted to gambling to stop doing that. Anyway, tell him that the habit could lead him into financial problems, and if this happened, he couldn't expect your help.

I used to go to the casino's when I was younger but not anymore. My wife was talking about going to one after she has the baby. I told her sure we could go. I think the way to do it is to set a limit and don't spend more than that!
