Government shut down

So it is starting to look like a government shut down is inevitable. I was reading a story about how much it actually costs us when the government does shut down...it's a lot!

We are annoyed because it directly affects us. My wife is a civil servant and while I'd love to have her home for a few days, we are worried about the impact on our finances. There is no guarantee that she'd get paid for the days it is shut down.

I just read today that this shutdown is affecting our soldiers and their familes. I guess the Government is not restocking the base stores and this is where they shop. It's sick if you ask me. Of course the senators and congress are still being paid!

Well, tomorrow will be shut down day four! The bad thing is even if they come to an agreement on the budget we still have the debt limit battle to get through which could also shut down the government. I have seen both parties say they are not willing to negotiate and that is NOT the way to solve this!
