Grilling Steaks

I've always had a problem with grilling steaks. The issue is that everyone in the house wants their steak well done and I can't seem to cook it til it's well done without it drying out and becoming chewy. Has anyone else here found a way to cook a steak to "well done" without over cooking it?

I think well done means over-cooked, anyway, so I'm not sure how you'll manage it. Try searing it first on higher heat, then moving it to a cooler part of the grill until it's done. Make sure you never use a fork to turn the steaks or move them - that lets the juices out and makes it drier. Use tongs, instead. Also, don't salt the meat until after it's cooked as that dries it out and toughens it, too.

Well, I know that steak restaurants can manage to cook it all the way through without turning it to beef jerky, so there has to be a way! I just can't eat a steak that's still bleeding, you know?
