Help wanted

My son is 4 and won't listen to me at all it can be
as simple as asking him what he wants for dinner all the
way to cleanup or don't hit your sister I have to tell him 5-6
times than I end up yelling at him I never wanted to be like
this but here I am and today was the eye opener he asked me
why I always yell at him I don't know if it's just a 4 year old
boy thing or if it's bad parenting on my part I truly need help
and do not want my kids to resent me for not being a better
father. Any help would be great.

Do you always just yell and nothing happens? Maybe he has figured out that it's worth being yelled at to be able to continue to do as he pleases.

I could see Jack's point there, what about sitting him down and talking to him in a calm manner? Kids will push your buttons but when you let them know what they are you are just giving them a free pass.
