I'm always coming up with things I think I could invent but I don't know how to get anyone interested in my ideas. Has anyone ever come up with something that worked and got backers for it? Or do you have to just do it all yourself?
There are companies like Davison that will buy your ideas and/or work with you. From what it seems like, though, the surest path to success is a lot of hard work, money, and time developing the concept on one's own.
You'd probably have to take it beyond the idea stage and develop a prototype. Then, you might be able to work out a joint venture arrangement or sell the rights to a company. Of course, you'll need to get a patent and whatever else applies before you share your invention with anyone.
