My kids complain that they don't like flavored spaghetti sauces. I think I'm going to start going with canned tomato sauce with no flavors and add my own spices. Does anybody do that, or even go as far as to grow tomatoes for your own sauce?
I have seen shows on the Food channel where they make their own spaghetti sauce and it seems like a lot of work. You may be better off using canned tomato sauce. Though they are canned, I believe they are still loaded with nutrients.
What kind of flavors is it they don't like? I haven't tried to make it from scratch, but my mother uses concentrated puree from a can as a base and it tastes real good.
