I know it is normal and typical for a four or five year old kid to talk to herself. But my niece is almost nine and she still does it time by time. Do you think she would be OK?

Well, some kids imitate and verbalize conversations they had and will have with others. Usually it is nothing strange but if this continues even when you advise her not to do this after a longer period of time you might want to talk to someone about it.
