I can't believe how hard it is to get a loan these days. I make great money and the only blemishes I have on my credit report are some little odds and ends that my ex-wife screwed me with, yet I'm still having trouble getting approved.

Was she your ex when she messed up your credit? If you two were married still then there isn't much you can do. Usually it is easy to get a auto loan. Have you tried your bank?
Salazar, have you thought about saving up some money for a larger down payment? Perhaps if you were able to pay more up front, a bank or other loaning institution would feel more comfortable about approving a smaller loan.
