Our local high school was locked down today because a student reported getting attacked in the bathroom. Turns out it was a..prank? I'm thinking she either needs serious help or a large fine.

That's a large cry for attention. Unfortunately, most of what she gets will be negative, since people will be rightly upset over a false report that had such consequences.

That is always a sign of a bigger problem. It's the same thing when a child constantly lies and you both know it is a lie. Hopefully, they will get her the help she needs.

I imagine that she will probably be suspended by the school, and also required to be evaluated by a professional before they allow her to return.

It should not be taken very seriously like suspending from the school or fine ro refer to a specialist. Probably, she might have some problem at the house or with a friend and she was not able to vent out her anger.

I know a lot of times that the parents need to be informed because the child is crying out for help but let's also not forget that kids are little *******s.

Just as many douchebag kids do stupid things and cause a lot of pain and suffering.

I think something needs to be done, could you imagine how much worse this could have been than just closing the place down for a bit? I am sure parents and teachers will get involved with this, and PTA during their next meeting.

Children between five and ten are not high school students. The girl should be suspended. Almost every school has a student counselor for kids with troubles.
