You overhear your ten year old drop the F bomb

She's alone with her friend and says it in a laughing, "I'm a F----- idiot!"

How do you think you would handle the situtation?

That is a tough one. I would most likely pull her aside not to embarrass her in front of her friends. But I would let her know that language is not appropriate.

I'd fine a good opportunity when it's just me and her and explain that it's not appropriate to use that word. Keep it simple.

Yes, keep it simple. Teens seem to think that saying bad words is cool. I would tell her that it's not cool at all. She wouldn't gain respect from other by saying the bad words.
