I have known people who do remarry. I think sometimes people do love and care for one another, but they just cannot live together. This could be why people go back and forth.

I think you need to love the kids as well. The love will depend on how accepting they are of you, I would guess to some extent. I love my soon to be step-kids and so this is not an issue. I just don't see how a relationship can work if you do not also care about her children.

Thanks for the advice. Right now he is receiving early intervention services and will interact with kids in a small group, when they go to the larger group at his preschool/childcare setting, then he shuts down and just wants to be with his teacher. We are working on getting him a TSS worker.

What do you mean affair? I think of affair as when someone is married and cheats on their spouse? I am thinking you do not mean it that way. Are you saying they just date casually or have physical relationships but nothing deeper?

I don't think it is the case with most stay at home dads. There are a lot of woman who live having a career but who want someone home with the kids. I think a lot of women have respect for their stay at home dad husbands.

I have heard mixed things on this. Some doctors say that the color does not really tell whether it is an infection or not. There are some doctors who say this means you have a sinus infection or something of that nature.

I certainly do not think it is an Evil myth. I think it is a fun time when kids believe in Santa Claus. There is that part of me that thinking though about how in most cases we would not tell our children something that is not entirely true.

I am going to become a step-parent soon. My wife's ex is going to be allowing me to adopt the kids. I am not sure if this makes a difference at all. I love these kids dearly but realize it will take them time to love me.

I am thinking about going back to school for a second degree. It is something I want to do and that I think will benefit my family in the long run. But I do worry about the financial aspect of things.

I think it is best to stay calm. I know this is not always easy if your child has broken something of great value whether in terms of money or memories. But in reality, if the child did not break it on purpose or doing something they were told not to, I think it is best not to worry much.

It can be challenging to balance a career-especially a demanding one and a family. I think family should always be the first focus. BUt, you also need to put your best efforts into your career. It is possible to balance both especially if you have the support of your family.

I wish there were more support groups for single dads. It is sad that more areas do not offer these. This is especially true since there are increasingly more single fathers. Joining online support groups is certainly not a bad idea though.

Sounds like you are doing a great job. Sometimes things do seem to happen for a reason. It is great that you were able to make something positive out of a situation that could have been negative.
