    Modern Family.

I was watching it when it first came out and absolutely loved it, but then life just got busy and I haven't been able to keep up. I hope there's a marathon sometime when I'm going to be home and can enjoy it - I really did like the show.

    Kids blogging

I'm with the saint; I think it's really awesome and it will get the kid to enjoy writing from a young age, which is more than many parents can say for their kids these days. As long as his parents are monitoring it and he's not giving out too much information about where he lives, I think it...

    Holiday weight

Ah, it always does around this time of year, but to be honest, I've been overweight for a while and don't fret over it too much anymore. It's not as important to me as other things as long as I don't get obese - so I enjoy my meals and don't give myself any moments of guilt.

    Teaching Conservation

Ahaha, stayathome, I can only imagine what their reactions would be if I made them use rags. I've told them that it only takes maybe 6 sheets, max, to get the job done - I don't see how showing them what 6 sheets looks like would accomplish. Perhaps I'll have to ration it out, lol.

    Dogs Eating "People Food"

Do you let your dogs eat leftovers or even cook for them? I don't cook for my dog every meal, but sometimes if there's more servings than we need and I know it won't taste good after a night in the fridge, I'll let the dog have a helping. Of course, I make sure there are no grapes, raisins...

    Reporting Incidents To Teachers

Half of it is doing what daddyJoe says (having your child tell the teacher in private) and half is how the teacher handles it. If the teacher makes it obvious that your child "told", the kids can still ridicule him/her. Hopefully the teacher is level-headed enough to handle the situation in such...

Marine Stabbed at "Toys for Tots" Drive

Marine at 'Toys for Tots' drive stabbed by theft suspect - CNN.com It's so sad how desperate people get around this time of year. I've heard of break-ins, and theft is common, but actually stabbing a marine in uniform? It gets scarier and scarier.

    Being Thankful and Giving

That's wonderful. I have my kids choose toys to donate around this time of year every year. I inspect what they put in the boxes I give them and take out anything they give that I don't find acceptable for donation, and give them back the box to re-fill. Over the years, they've actually gotten...

    A ghostly creature

Wow - it's so amazing how many undiscovered creatures there are out in the water. We've gone farther out into space than we have gone deep into the ocean, when you think about it. There's so much to learn about.

    Teaching Conservation

With three kids, things get pretty expensive when everyone is being, well, wasteful. It seems like we go through a whole roll of toilet paper and another of paper towel a day. I remind them again and again to use less, but it doesn't seem to stick. Any ideas on how I can fix this?

    It's not bad, just.....

I really wish the second part were coming out sooner than this summer, honestly. I don't like just having half a story, and maybe that's part of what you're feeling about the movie right now.

    Just a little jealous...

I agree with the above posters; make sure your son isn't being totally left on his own while all attention is on the baby. It is hard for a 6 year old to understand the significance of a baby learning to walk; it's something he does and sees people do easily every day. Make sure he gets...

    Good Friends

Do you take the time to enjoy the company of good friends regularly? My buds and I meet up once a week at a wing joint for an all-you-can-eat wings and happy hour special there, and it's nice to have that "guy time," you know?

    Relocating for a Job

I'm sure that if she could have found a job where my friend was working, that his wife would have gone along, but she couldn't. Times are so tough, and things like this just make it tougher on families.
