Seems like every street in our the city is under construction. It took me an hour and a half to get to work when I usually do it in 30 minutes. I was 10 minutes late. I just wish they would start work after nine o'clock when most people driving are at work.

Is it just me or is car insurance getting costlier? I thought after all these years of driving without any tickets or accidents I'd have more deductions. I'm even driving an economical family car not a sports car. Oh well, I guess everything but my salary is going up.

Is it normal for a child in high school to have 3 hours of homework? She starts when she gets home at 4:00 and only stops for dinner before going back to homework. They should be coming home from school and relaxing or doing something other than school work.

Halloween is coming and it just reminds me of the fights over sharing candy. As they grew up we constantly would encourage sharing. For some reason Halloween is the one time they refused to share. They would horde their own candy haul and not let anyone near it. Anyone else have this problem?

Our children are in their teens and we have a great relationship. One thing I have learned to do is keep the communication lines open. This has proved invaluable over the years. We let the children talk about anything they want and they keep us informed of the things happening in their lives...
