    Kariño Pacifier Recall

There has been a massive recall of these pacifiers. The pacifier gets detached from the mouth guard plus the mouth guard is not big enough also.

She is not getting better :(

Zsa Zsa Gabor, one of my favorite actresses of all time and a bombshell even in her late age, broke a hip, underwent surgery and is not getting any better. I hope she pulls through.

    Items for new parents?

Other than the essential diapers and stuff? I would say that the most useful item for parents with new babies would be a baby sling. I posted a thread about that somewhere in this board.

    Baby Slings

I guess it depends on how heavy your baby is really. According to Fred, most babies grow out of it around a year and a half to two years old.

McDonald's faces lawsuit over Happy Meals

Crazy parents. These are the ones who blame the teachers that their kids are shooting their classmates, blame the church because their child is a teen-age parent and blame mcdonalds because their son or daughter is almost as big as they are. DUH.

Chores that you do at home.

It is given since I love gardening that I take care of the outside of the house. The kids help out with kitchen chores though. I cook when my wife cannot. (More like I heat up what she cooked ha ha ha)

Too Much Screen Time Can Threaten Attention Span

We have limited our TV time since the kids started to notice the TV. LOL When the kids are in school they are limited only to an hour or so a day and ONLY after they do their homework.

    Favorite hobby

I love to garden believe it or not. LOL. There is something about planting and seeing it grow and bloom and then bear fruit that is absolutely amazing!

When did your kids start to talk?

My kids started to say 2or3-syllable words around their 11th month. Pretty early I was told. By 1 year and 6 months, they were really talking. What I really liked about it was that they did not pass through baby talk stage. THANK GOD! lol

    Baby Slings

Hey daddies or daddies-to-be! I just saw my buddy Fred and he had on one of the coolest things I had ever seen. He called it the baby sling. Apparently this has been around for quite a while. Well --- my youngest is 12 so I do not know much about babies anymore. It looks like this:

    Morning Person

My wife is a nurse and there are times that she wishes she did not have to be out too early for her shift. Unfortunately she gets hit with the 1st shift so off she goes at 5am. She is a morning person and I am an owl. When it is my turn to take the kids to school, I do my best to sleep early the...

Staying active in raising a child

Good for you! My dad probably thought that divorcing my mother meant that he divorced me too. I saw him probably just once a year.

    breast milk

My kids breastfed till they were around one and a half years old. I think my wife could not stand it that the kids already had teeth and were prone to biting which hurt her.

    A day at the park

So... do any of you stay-at-home fathers have little ones that you need to bring to the park/playground? Who do you bond with there?

    The Colony on Discovery Channel.

I have not seen that show but I guess it is pretty much the same as the SURVIVOR series? I mean.... those were harsh experiences too.

    How Long Do They Watch?

My kids do not get tv until all assignments are done and just an hour and a half each day. I try not to deprive them too much of it so they can still relate with friends in school. During their exam week, they do not get to watch any BUT my wife tivos their favorite shows and come week-end... TV...

    What's a good first pet?

I think that a fish or a turtle would be a good first pet. Not too much maintenance but can create a sense of responsibility with the children. You say he is 5? Those two would be good.

Who do you tell and when?

It depends I guess. For the first kid ---- as soon as we were out the doctor's office we were short of shouting it from the mountaintops! LOL

    "Daddy I Hate you!"

Although I never heard them say it... I am sure that at one point or another they have thought it. LOL. Did we not all pass through that stage during our younger years? If I heard one of my kids tell me that, I will not take offense. It will hurt, but I will try to put myself in their shoes.

    Flash cards

Do no underestimate the little ones! My son was able to recognize his grandfather's picture in the newspaper (article about him getting a reward) when he was SEVEN months old. He did not speak but he pointed it out. There is already recognition.
