You don't need their permission but it helps. You do need to explain to them about the fact that you and their mother don't like each other as spouses but it doesn't mean that you don't love them. And also explain that Daddy's need company too, just like they need best friends and it won't make any difference in how you love them. Don't expect them to like the fact that you are dating however. It really gives them something to think about though and you would be surprised what those little minds can absorb sometimes.
