Disciplining In Public

All kids are going to act up at times in public. How do you handle that? What kinds of discipline do you use and what works for you? Now that my kids are a little older, my wife and I usually remind them if they don't behave in public, a privilege will be taken away. That usually works for us.

I think that's about the best you can do any more. Especially in public. You risk the child services coming down on you if you do more. I have watched many people have child services called down upon them for much less.

My kids are very well-behaved (most the time), so I don't have to worry about this much. If something major does end up happening, though, we will have a talk with them and ask them if they want to go home. Of course they don't, so they calm down.
