Sharing top secret recipes

I've been working on writing my own recipes for marinades, rubs, barbecue sauces, etc and then I try them out on my friends. The problem is I want to keep the successful ones top secret, but people always ask for the recipe. What do you do when someone asks for a recipe that you just don't want to give up?

You tell them just that - it's a family secret sorry. You could try ~ If I tell you I'd have to kill you. That should get them laughing. You could also say for a large price I can share.

Family secret. My mom made a whole cookbook of family recipes that I will not give out. I do think the wife has given some stuff out though.
