Substitute For A Mother

I don't know how it feels to be a single father so I would ask this one. Do you look for someone who can substitute for a mother to your child? It could be your sister or even the child's grandmother. I think that it is essential for children to have a motherly figure. What do you think?

My children still have their mother. We are just not together, so we are considered single parents. If she wasn't in the picture, then I would look for someone who my girls could relate to. I do think it is important!

A female role model is especially important for girls, I think. If their mother wasn't around, I would look for others in the family who wanted to spend time with them and who they seemed to like for them to do things with. How have you handled it if you've been in that situation? Maybe it would help if you could give us some tips.
