Our 7 year old watches a lot of shows that I watch which have very adult contexts or humor. He understands the things that should not be repeated though. We rarely let him watch those shows alone, so we could explain stuff to him as they happen. As for horror shows, we don't let him watch those either but just because he doesn't like it because it will give him nightmares. Otherwise, I would let him watch if he wanted to as well, provided the film is not too gore filled and I am there to supervise.

PG13 is what I let them watch. They are all old enough to do this. I don't like horror movies but I will watch one with my oldest son. He is old enough for horror movies.

We make sure that there is no adult content or excessive bad language or violence. They'll see that soon enough as it is. Oh and since my wife gets scared watching horror movies, we don't watch them either.

I am not at home most of the time so I have to leave it to my wife to supervise what the children watch on tv. In general the programs are child-friendly because the government has already done the filtering.

This is where my ex-wife fails again. A few weeks ago my kids came over with their favorite movie "Halloween", the new Rob Zombie version. They wanted to watch it, so I let them to divert an argument. My current wife gets pissed, but they have already seen it 100 times, and their mom lets them do it.

My kids watch movies that are classified as GP by the movie board. Usually, they watch movies shown on Disney Channel so my wife and I know that these don't have foul languages or violent scenes. Almost always we also watch with them so there is guidance from an adult when needed.

I have a 3 years old son. So I mostly let him watch those animated children shows like disney and friends, bob the builder, handy manny, etc. I don't allow him to watch barney though because they say that if you let you son watch it they'll turn into gay. No offense to gays and lesbians.

I think it depends on their age. I let my children watch most cartoons. The Simpsons (which actually is my favorite) is restricted for them. Godric, I have never heard that watching Barney will makes a boy turn into gay.

My kids usually wanna watch comedies, and nothing else. They're interested in anything scary. I was the opposite at their age. I used to watch mostly scary movies. Used to have constant nightmare because of it.

Hmmm this is a toughy

Hmmm this is a tough question. I have a son. He is a growing young man that I want to be successful in all aspects of his life. However I don't want to shelter him too much, you know what I mean? I don't feel like raising him like some goodie 2 shoes is going to do him any good. So I pretty much let him watch what ever he wants...as long as its not porn or anything like that. Just don't want him to be too sheltered and unaware.
