What's The Worst Thing You Have....

...ever encountered as a father. I don't mean the normal stuff but the serious things. I lost a son 2 years ago at age 43 and it still hurts like it was yesterday. Losing a child at any age is not anything I would wish on my worst enemy.

I don't think I've encountered anything terrible so far in my parenthood & I am very thankful for that. I know plenty others are not as lucky. I couldn't even imagine losing a child.

I've met people who have lost infants and they are just the same. It's horrible and not anything you can ever forget. A piece of you is gone. You go on and do what you need to but you will never be the same.

That is truly tragic, Kromer. I am so sorry for your loss. I would imagine that a parent would be a shell of a person after losing a child, no matter what age. I am grateful that I haven't had anything like that happen...and I pray it never does.
