When your step-child's mom is either poorly or otherwise can't be there, are you happy to step up and take care of the kid? Do you get on well enough with the child?

My step daughter was only six when I married her mother and she is now twenty nine. She was my daughter as much as my biological daughters, more so because they had already grown up and left home when she came into my life, and she had no other father. I took care of her with as much dedication as I could.
