Dads with depression

I know that there has to be more dads with depression that just don't talk about it. It's not common for fathers to come out and say that they have been diagnosed with depression. How do you think depression plays a role in your parenting style and techniques?

I don't suffer from depression but I have a couple of friends who do. They tend to be moody, so I would guess it makes the parenting less consistent than otherwise.

I used to be depressed and I can tell you, it is no joke. Being moody is not the same as depression which is a lot worse. Everything suffers because of your state. Since it dominates how you think, feel and do, it is very hard to function when you feel utterly lost.
