Finding a sitter

As a single dad I have the worst time finding a sitter. Through the day the kids go to daycare and school, but in the evenings I am with them. Sometimes my family helps but there are other times when they can not. How do I find a sitter?

Do you have any friends or coworkers with teens old enough to trust as sitters? This is what we do if time is tight with family. Otherwise, sometimes there are sitter agencies for an area if you look in the phone book.

It is always better to get one from the neighborhood or one referred by friends or family. Sometimes agency people can't be trusted as much as those known to you and your friends or family.
