That is why I am so strict on my kids. When they wanted pets I said sure, but they had to earn part of the money by doing extra chores and they had to do research on the pet. It took them about three months to save up their share of the money and to study about the animal. By the time we got the animal they knew everything about the animal and had all the supplies. But guess what, over those three months they changed their minds 4 times about what pet to get. They take full care of the pets, I only help here and there.
