Kids and pain

My son keeps complaining about what I know is growing pains. Yet he keeps getting more and more upset about it. I know if we go to the doctor they will send us home and do nothing about it. I can't afford to take him to the doctor. How can I get him to stop complaining.

How sure are you that it's growing pains? He may be suffering from more than that, and it would be prudent to bring him to the doctor to be very sure what it is.
