Low Carb, High Protein Diet

I recently watched the documentary "Fathead" which is a response to the very popular documentary "Super Size Me." The premise was you could eat a lot of junk food and still be healthy.

The film raised an interesting point that foods that are high in carbohydrates and lack of exercise are what's causing obesity and high rates of diabetes. So they believe to be healthy, you would need to cut down on high carb foods like bread and pasta and eat a lot of protein and animal fat instead.

Has anyone attempted or currently eating this way as a lifestyle and not just simply to lose weight?
