I get so disgusted by politicians who espouse "family values" and then later end up in the headlines for some kind of weird, perverted behavior, don't you? It seems to happen all the time.
One group seems to promote family values, and gets the sex scandals. The other one promotes paying your taxes, and gets caught not paying them. Seems like what they say is opposite of what they do.
I think that the fixation on "family values" is a cover up for many politicians. How many times have we seen an anti-gay politician in a hypocritical scandal? I think that some (not all) who are so against something are trying to compensate.
I think politicians tell voters what they think they want to hear to get elected. It takes a charismatic person to be a politician and they're the ones who are more apt to be sexually indiscriminate. Power corrupts.
