Retiring abroad.

It seems that retiring to another country is starting to be an ever growing fad. With many countries offering very appealing retirement perks would you consider this? I'm nowhere near that age, but if I was, with the cost of living abroad being significantly lower and with a bunch of expat communities popping up all over the world, I can't say I wouldn't seriously consider it.

I never considered it myself, my main reasoning being which every place you go at the end of the day you'll still be considered a foreigner, not to mention the distance from the kids and other relatives.
