My friend got a letter in the mail requiring him to pay the state medical insurance his son has. He is divorced and she lost her job about a year and a half ago. So she put the child on state insurance, because both were unemployed and didn't have insurance. Now the state is requiring him to pay, how can they do that?

I don't know how well they in-force that. My ex wife was sent a letter that said the same thing. Of course she has not paid them a dime and as far as I know they haven't taken any action. The state is just trying to recoup the money any way that they can.
