If I have given my best effort to find a job and it still eludes me, I have to talk with the wife so we can make plans about what to do. I won't mind staying at home if she doesn't. But it will have to be a very temporary arrangement.
I would feel bad for that but it can happen to everybody. I would discuss with the wife to decide what to do. I wouldn't mind if I ended up having to stay at home. Just because you stay at home doesn't necessarily mean you cannot work. There are many online jobs you can work from home.
