Working holidays

Do you ever have to work holidays? One of the very few good things about my job is that I always get holidays off. I don't think I could ever take a job that would keep me away from the family on holidays.

Yes and its never a fun thing when you are sitting down at a holiday dinner only to get the phone ringing off the hook and everyone look at you to frown. This has happened on more than one holiday but its not something I can get away from so thankfully a few jokes later and we are back on track for the festivities.

Unless there is a life or death issue going on, no, I refuse to work on a holiday. Those days are my days for myself and my family. I never get a sick day, I never take extra time off, those are my days and I am not willing to give them up for any amount of money.

I work for myself now, so I work all the time it seems. I'm always checking up on things in some form or another.
