Working Late

I think my kids are mad at me. I have had to work late every night for the past 2 weeks and I almost never see them. Their mom is great with them, but I am sure they are mad at me for not being around. How can I get them to understand this?

How old are they now and how often does this happen? I can vouch that many times over the Mom is stuck with having to give the kids the talk of why the Dad has to work late but sometimes even simple talk works best. Have you sat down with them on the weekends yet?

You don't have to work at the weekend, right? If that is the case, I think you can use the time to be with the kids as much as possible. If you couldn't afford quantity, just focus on quality.

I would try doing stuff on the weekends or your days off if you can. See if you can get some father/children time in. The wife would appreciate the break, and thank you for it, while you get some good father time in.

Like Chelly said, if they are old enough, try talking to them too.
