I forgot about White Christmas. That's one I like, too. The kids watch the Frosty and Rudolf ones. There are some newer ones that are pretty good, but they'll never top the older classics.
I read something about that a few years ago. I used to sleep on my side and switched to flat on my back after reading that it meant "kingly" or something like that. Talk about the power of suggestion.
That's a very good idea. When I was a kid, my dad grow and sold Christmas trees, which paid for Christmas without going into debt for it. What types of seasonal jobs are available? Would they be at places like Walmart and grocery stores?
It's only twice a year and who can resist all that delicious food? I don't think it's so bad. I'm looking forward to Christmas because there's usually even more food to choose from.
I heard the electronic cigarettes are a good alternative to cigarettes. They have some nicotine in them, but there is no smoke, which means no second-hand smoke. Has anyone used them to quit?
Does anyone have anything unique with their Christmas dinner, other than the traditional turkey or ham and dressing, cranberry sauce, yams, rolls, etc? If so, let's share and maybe we can all have something new on our menus this year.
I enjoy the Christmas music when I'm out and about in stores. I like to play it at home, too, but not all the time. I think getting some more CDs for your wife is a good idea. At least then you can have variety.
Having a blog at eight years old is great. It's something the kid can be proud of and could lead to a career later on. I do hope the parents are monitoring it for the boy's safety.
I don't think plastic surgery for teens is a good thing, unless they have a serious deformity. I just can't justify it at that age for anything other than that, especially for something like breast implants.
I always try to watch some of the Christmas movies that are on TV. My favorites are Miracle on 34th Street and It's a Wonderful Life. The kids like them, too. What are your favorites?
I've listened to Dave Ramsey on the radio. He's very good at giving sound financial advice, probably because he has experienced being in so much debt that he had to dig himself out.
Who cleans up all the wrapping and ribbons after the presents are opened at your house? At mine, each one cleans up their own and we all take it to the trash after all the presents are open.
I like your second wife's system. It's so much better to take time to share what the presents are and thank the person for the gift. Everyone opening them at the same time in chaos doesn't teach kids to be thankful or even have good manners toward the giver.
