A Frienly Insurance Tip

I was so stupid. I used a hospital to get some tests and treatments done that I thought was in my insurance company's network. Even if they weren't, I thought the insurance would pay a big chunk of the cost. I was wrong. For just one visit that cost around $250.00, they paid a little over $20.00. Altogether, I now owe a little under $1,000.00. Makes me wonder why I even have insurance. Now, I'm looking for one that is in their network.

I was supposed to have a $50 co-pay for one ER visit a year. The wife made me go to the ER when I was with her after she had her kid for my Kidney Stone. They paid $100, I owe almost $7,000. I'm negotiating with them. I've seen people cut down their payments to almost a 1/4 of what was billed.
