Anniversary getaway.

My wedding anniversary is coming up in a couple of weeks. My wife and I are taking a long weekend, having the kids stay with Grandma, and going to Las Vegas! I cannot wait!

We want to see a show or two, but it's been a long time since we've gone. Does anyone have any suggestions? Any other fun things we should do or see while we're there?

They have like 100 different Cirque de Soleil shows so you can't really go wrong with one of those. It depends on what you like to do...I am a degenerate gambler and drinker so me and my wife just party and see what happens.

I was there for my bachelor party and ended up at a bunch of strip clubs, which is always a fun night with your wife if you want to include her too.

Take the time to walk the entire strip and visit every casino. They all have something unique about them and it is free to walk in and look around. A lot of them have free shows and stuff too...Caesar's Palace has these robots that act out a scene every hour and Treasure Island has a pirate battle.

I highly recommend the Criss Angel Cirque show called Believe. The wife and I saw it last winter when we were in Vegas and it was so worth the ticket price. I don't know about any of the other shows but there are plenty to choose from. I would recommend going to Fremont Street. It is the heart of old Vegas and they usually have live music.

I just want to say that you've made the best decision to have a wedding anniversary! It shows that the two of you are still intact in your relationship. Sorry I'm not good at suggesting shows and activities to do during occasions such as this. However just go out there and enjoy your marriage!

Strip clubs with his wife? Wow that sounds like fun! Not... I want to say "lucky dog" I have never been to Vegas. I love that you are taking a honeymoon though. Whatever you do, have tons of fun.

Have fun. Catch some shows, eat at some cool places and drink some exotic drinks.

Where are you staying in Vegas?

There are loads of free shows by the hotels, some of the shows are truly spectacular. You have to see the Belaggio Fountains at night, a nice romantic spot for a couple. I'd also recommend the shark aquarium. I'm sure you will have a great time in Vegas.

We are staying at The Flamingo. We got a pretty good deal on the room and it looks like it's in the middle of the strip.

We were thinking about Fremont Street. My wife has heard goog thing about The Golden Nugget's buffet, and the gambling tends to be cheaper from what I remember.

I lived there for about 12 years until I retired. Most of the downtown clubs do have cheaper tables to play at. I think, if the hotel is still there, the Las Vegas club had a 25 cent crap table that never closed! Just have lots of fun and remember...any table or slot machine that had a big bright banner over it should be read as "RUN AWAY FAST!"

Congrats on the anniversary and I wish you many more years of a successful marriage!

Flamingo is a pretty good place to stay, mainly because of its location. Yeah, I like Golden Nugget's buffet. I'm not much of a gambler, so I can't really give you any tips there. Freemont street is a cool place to spend some time. Get a deep fried twinkie while you're there. Nearly all the casinos on Freemont street have them.

If you have the money, pay to see a show somewhere. There are tons of free shows if you don't, though.
