backtalk master

Lately we have a kiddo who is becoming a master at this evil art and we have no idea where it was picked up. Sitting in time outs does not work, taking a nap when there is too much hyper in the air (which leads to the backtalk) does not work. What happens when you think you have no options left?

All I can think of is that there needs to be negative consequences that mean something to the back talker. Somehow he has to make the connection that back talk is not accepted.

I know one person who took every toy out of their boys room for over a week and it stopped very fast. The only thing left in the room was the furniture and the bedding.
