Credit Cards for Teens

Last night, we had an argument because of credit card. My 15 year old daughter wants to have her own credit card. I guess she's jealous because almost all her friends have their own credit cards. Do you tolerate this kind of behavior?

?? No way! 15 is way too young to get a credit card. I didn't even think it was legal yet. I'm pretty sure you have to be 18 to have a binding credit card. Stick to your guns on this one.

Do you give her an allowance? You could try to get her a pre-paid credit card. Just put her allowance money onto the credit card. It would help teach her the proper use of a credit card.

Personally. I think 15 is a bit young. 17 maybe. But each child is different.
