I am my wife's second marriage and so far I haven't had anything to do with her ex, but that is about to change because we are taking over custody of their son. I know what this guy put my wife through when they were married and I don't know how I'm going to deal with him without losing it. I know I have to, but it's going to take an incredible amount of self control on my part. Does anyone here have to deal with your wife's ex husband?

Just keep your cool. If you lose it then you are going to upset the kids and maybe your wife. You don't want the kids to start acting out against you because you couldn't control your feelings. I am not saying you can't but I have seen men end up in that situation.
