One of the rules my wife and our kids follow is that no one answers the phone when it's dinner time. That's because it's our time to get caught up on what others are doing. Caller ID makes it nice, too.
I don't mind if someone answers the phone when we are eating. We can't talk on the phone but we at least answer it to see who it is. We don't have caller ID.
