God Parent

When is it too much to agree on being a god parent? I have 2 children and 1 god child, then my buddy just asked me to be his daughters god father yesterday. I know you don't want anything to ever happen, but just in case I would end up with 4 children to raise.

I know technically that is a role of a god-parent. But I don't know too many people that actually follow that. Especially since many people choose different people to be each child's god-parents, or pick unmarried couples as god-parents. In my experience, being a god-parent is more of just playing a more active role in that child's life.

In some cases, being a godfather is even merely a religious formality. That's not good but that's what usually happens. Being a godfather of a child, I don't think you will be physically responsible for his life.
