Hit and run

I've seen a lot of these hit and run accidents in the news, but there was one ridiculous one recently where the guy hit a 78 year old woman who was walking and killed her and he drove off. He was caught and is now facing serious time for what he did. I don't really know the law, but if he would've stayed and called the police and not fled, would he have faced charges still?

I had a hit and run at a store when my car was out in the lot, some witnesses saw the truck but not enough to give a full description. It left a huge gash in the right quarter panel. Another friend I know was actually hit by a car and in the hospital right now. I can not believe what would go through someones mind to actually hit a person and flee.
