Jerky in the oven

Has anyone ever tried to make jerky in the oven? I have been looking into dehydrating online, and it looks as though my oven will do just as well as a dehydrator. I think I'll wait for all this rain to pass, but we may try it later in the week.

I have never done it, but I know people who have made it in the oven with success. If you give it a try, I hope you'll post back and share your results. I've always wanted to try it.

I have done this before and it worked just fine. Make sure your meat is sliced thin, and I like to marinate mine overnight first before dehydrating.

Not in the oven. The oven will work, but from my understanding is it takes more energy.

I haven't tried jerky yet, but we have been doing fruits and veggies in the oven. We may get a dehydrator later on, but this is working for now. This has helped a lot with our food storage plans.
