Kids always closer to their mom?

Do you think kids were born to be closer to their mom than they are to their dad? I haven't met many children who are closer to their dads. Or is it just me?

My son is closer to me than to his mother. In fact I have to constantly stay on him about respecting her. The way he watches his friends mouth of to their moms has give him bad habits. My daughters are closer to their mother though.

Mine were definitely closer to their mother than me simply because I wasn’t active in their lives as I should have been. Nevertheless, I think it’s a matter of relationship. Children tend to build stronger relationships with their mothers because that’s who they spend the most time with but it can be equally as strong with their fathers if they choose to put in the work.

My kids are closer to their mom also, and I can understand why. We are just another old school family where the dad brings in income and the mom takes care of the children and household chores.
